Another week of similar conditions is definitely testing the patience of most fishos! Things are quickly improving though, with debris clearing offshore and in local rivers.

With high tides and clearer conditions, there will be plenty of live bait about and fish will be plentiful given the break from recreational fishing. These conditions should also result in a great Snapper season.

For those heading offshore, Snapper, Pearl Perch, Cobia and Sweetlip are in good supply. Some nice Coral Trout have been reported from Sunshine Beach to Coolum Beach. Tusk Fish, Māori Cod and Snapper have also been caught.

The rivers are returning some great Flathead, Bream and Whiting, with a few nice Trevally about. Crabs are still about in plenty of numbers with mullet the most successful bait.

While you are waiting to get back on the water, it's a great time to do an equipment safety check, especially if you are a boatie. Making sure you’ve got the right gear and your equipment is in good condition is essential to ensuring your next adventure is a safe one.

As always, drop in and see is in store at 311 David Low Way at Bli Bli, or shop online at
