After a long wait, local fishos were finally treated to a weekend of perfect weather conditions. Plenty of boats were spotted offshore with quality Sweetlip, Snapper and Tusk Fish caught closer to shore, while schools of Tuna were busting up all along the coast. Big snapper and Pearl Perch were caught from the banks.Sunshine Reef has had awesome catches of Coral Trout. Fishos wetting a line at Double Island Point scored some big Nannnygai, Amber Jack, Gold Band and Tuskfish.

Beaches should really start firing coming into the cooler months. Plenty of big Dart and Trevally are already about. Local rivers are still producing plenty of flathead, Tailor, Trevally and Queenfish with the Pro Lure Clone Prawn still the lure of choice. Green Tiger, Jelly Prawn and Motoroil colours in the Clone Prawn lures have been the most successful. Whiting are also on  the run and fishing sand banks and drop offs have proven most successful. Live worms and yabbies are the bait of choice at the moment.

With school holidays here and the Easter long weekend coming up, it’s a great time to get the kids outside and fishing. We have plenty of gear for the beginner in store including rod and reel combos and bait. The next full moon falls on Easter Sunday so the long weekend will be a great chance to get out and wet a line.
