Sunshine Coast Fishing Report | Thursday 25 May 2023

Welcome to your weekly Sunshine Coast Fishing Report. Thankfully the winds and poor conditions disappeared this week, leaving clear skies, warm days and next to no wind. Mostly sunny conditions are expected for the coming weekend, with Sunday looking to be the pick of the days.

Offshore

Snapper are slowly turning up with some quality catches reported. Pearl Perch, Grassy Sweetlip, Cobia and Hussar have also been on the chew. The occasional Spanish Mackerel have been coming over the side, and there are still plenty of tuna bustups about if you are willing to chase them down.
Caloundra fishos have been rewarded with Snapper, Grassy Sweetlip, Tuskfish, and the occasional Spanish mackerel. Reports of Tailor and Mulloway have also come in, with those fishing off the beach also getting some good catches of Dart, Tailor and Bream.

Estuary

Noosa and Maroochy Rivers continue to fish well. There’s been plenty of Soapies about with a few bigger slabs starting to show up. Flathead have been in good numbers with a few caught around the 80cm mark. Bream and Moses Perch have been thick around bridge pylons and jetties. Local crabbers have also reported catches have started to improve, with some decent size bucks caught this week.
Golden Trevally, Tea Leaf and Diamond Trevallly have been caught around Twin Waters, Cod Hole and Dunethin Rock.

Freshwater

Bass catches are coming in thick and fast, with reports of big catches in the region’s dams. Pro Lure Clone Prawns have been claiming plenty of quality Bass.
